Information

After 6 seasons of Fly vs Jerk, it is very clear that fly fishing sometimes is an outstanding technique in the hunt for the pike - catching both a lot of them and many times the big ones too.

The Suomi Slayer is a very bright pattern in chartreuse, pink and white that usually works best in muddy waters or darker weather conditions - but no rules without exceptions. We first saw this color when we filmed Fly vs Jerk 6 and Pyry Granlund in Team Vision Finland managed to catch a whole bunch of beautiful pike on it the last day while other colors didn't seem to work at all.

We got really impressed by the crazy looking, Finnish pattern and because we hadn't seen anyting like it here in Sweden, we simply decided to make a pike fly in that color to be availabe on the Swedish market. Niklaus Bauer tied a prototype of it and went out to try it out - and he had the fishing of his life with many really big pike caught (while other patterns didn't produce at all) and he also caught a new personal best at 12,3 kilo - all on the Suomi Slayer. Give it a try!

This pike fly is tied on tube and is supposed to be rigged with a Bauer Pike Rig. To give it a more jigging action, try to put an XXL Cone Head on the leader in front of the fly.
